On Jan. 3, 2023, the actor shared a selfie from his bed in ICU.Public Information Office Bryan Samudio of theWashoe County Sheriff's Office explained that on Sunday, Jan. 1at 8:55 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received involving a snowcat and a pedestrian, whohad been ran over by the snowcat in the area of Mount Rose Highway. According to Samudio, the previous evening had seen approximately three feet of snow in the area.

"Mr. Renner's personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home," Samudio explained. "Mr. Renner went to retrieve his piston bully, or snowcat -- an extremely large piece mobile equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds -- in an effort to get his vehicle moving."
