Murder Mindfully Review
Opening up with the scene of a defence lawyer who twists a case and saves his client in court, this show starts off on a high note right from the start. Björn Diemel is a man of talent and is good at his job, but he isn’t that good when it comes to his personal life. Having disappointed his family on many occasions, he takes on a mindfulness course suggested by his wife for the sake of their daughter.
This course becomes a life changer for the man as he puts those practices to deal with work-life balance. However, when his client gets into deep trouble, Björn chooses to keep the balance even if he has to kill his client. Soon begins his adventure through the mess created as he navigates through troubled water while remembering his mindfulness lessons.
To begin with, this is a thriller comedy that is absolutely entertaining and intriguing with elements of psychopathy that only keep you hooked. Björn’s internal monologue is just as interesting as the rest of the plot and has us wonder-struck by the madness going inside his head in some very serious situations. He was definitely a talented lawyer before that course, but after the course, he turned into a talented murderer who is very capable of becoming a mafia boss.

Mindfulness in a way unlocked his true potential and seeing him turn colder with each passing episode is entertaining yet horrifying. The only person even keeping him sane throughout the show is his daughter Emily, who is a way is also the reason for his turning this way. The show is interesting in many ways and has guided viewers through the plot in an amazing manner.
The cinematography is smooth and brilliant while the characters are well written. Seeing as this is a film based on an International Bestseller, turning it into a series is never easy, but this adaptation has turned out quite well and is making me want to read the book. Especially because of the character Björn.
Coming to the performance of the cast, I have to say that every actor on screen has brought a unique charm to the characters played by them. However, Tom Schilling is definitely the highlight as he embodies the role of Björn in a way that we can feel the madness grow within him. His performance develops as the character gets crazier which lets the audience experience the growing madness of the man who is on a time limit with each task given to him.
This takes us to the tasks given to Björn throughout the series and how wonderfully the plot navigates through them all. It could’ve gone seriously wrong and become one big mess, but the clarity is on point. Even when the tasks ranged from getting his daughter into kindergarten to finding a traitor, everything was so well done that it will amaze you.
Altogether, this is a show that has put violence, thrill and comedy all in one place and has done it right.
Summing Up
Overall, Murder Mindfully brings an entertaining experience to viewers as it embodies comedy in a crime thriller that gives you the whole experience. The series will leave you stunned while making you laugh, but will not leave you bored at any moment. A good watch for fans of thrillers, crime shows, and comedy lovers.
