Hayden Panettiere comes out of retirement to appear in Scream 6

Scream 6 is the upcoming sixth installment of the classic Scream slasher franchise. The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who also directed the fifth film in the series. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick pen the script.

After an 11-year break, 2022 saw the return of Ghostface along with some old and new faces. Scream 6 acts as a direct sequel to 2022’s reboot. The returning cast includes Ghostface veteran Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers, who has starred in every film in the franchise so far. Coming out of retirement, Hayden Panettiere returns to her role as Kirby Reed after last appearing in Scream 4 (2011).

The newer members of the cast returning for Scream 6 are Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera as Tara and Samantha Carpenter. Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding also reprise their roles as Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin. Scream 6 is also inviting new blood to the fold, including Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, and Henry Czerny.
