Today I received my results for the Level 3 qualification I completed in Professional Marketing - Digital Fundamentals with the CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. I achieved a Merit, which is amazing as my background has always been art and design so learning this new skill has been a great challenge and success🌟This qualification has taught me the core principles of marketing, how to professionally execute a marketing campaign for a business and how to digitally market towards an audience using various online platforms. These are all valuable skills and great experience for progressing my career and I’m excited to apply them to my next role.I want to thank Nottingham Trent University for this great opportunity and Shamshad Walker for being a wonderfully supportive and encouraging tutor😊

What made me passionate about becoming a digital marketer? 🌟I grew up loving art since I was a kid, it was the main subject that brought me excitement and inspired me. I loved learning about culture, different perspectives, different ideas and theories. This led me into to the world of fashion. I always loved researching into trends, concepts, different brands, their identities and how they market towards their audience. I graduated being passionate about creating art and designs but knew I wanted to try something different. During my degree I had taken modules in trend forecasting and research and really enjoyed the marketing side of my degree. 🎓 With the help of the NTU program aiding me to get into digital marketing, I taught myself the foundations of marketing and completed a Level 3 qualification with the CIM. I completed a digital marketing internship with Treat Kitchen forming a marketing campaign and knew digital marketing is what I want to do. Back at the start of my journey, I didn’t have a clear direction but now looking back at my work it’s clear. I was always creative but investigative and now I’m excited to progress my career in the industry. Feel free to give me a message if you want to hear more about my journey📚#digitalmarketing #marketing #creative #journey #art #fashion #graduate #opentowork

Why is marketing towards men a challenge?I recently completed my internship with Treat Kitchen, a Nottingham local confectionery company that aim to spread joy through delicious treats. I had the opportunity to work as a digital marketer and work on a campaign to help boost their engagement by targeting a key customer segment. Working together, they openly expressed how it was hard to even grab their attention when advertising to a male demographic. But why?For developing the campaign, I completed in depth customer research and when investigating the brand and its competitors, I found some key differences in the marketing approach. Marketing is changing and becoming more digital so it is important to identity what digital platforms your target audience uses. For the campaign, we needed to target customers at the awareness and consideration stage of the customer journey.Often men don’t feel the need to have a sweet treat, as I know I do. “Several studies have shown that men report more craving for savoury foods” (Weingarten, 1991).The product I focused on to advertise for value-added content was the “Bread & Pizza Baking Mix” as there are endless opportunities for different recipes. Plus, the bread can be made sweet or savoury. It’s important to remember the brand’s ultimate message when marketing products. There is so much Treat Kitchen has to offer. Within the campaign, I wanted to express that Treat Kitchen is a place for everyone. They offer a range of treats and gifts that are great for all occasions. Optimising a product and advertising it on the correct platform/s to target a specific customer is the best approach.I really enjoyed working on this campaign. I have gained valuable work experience and I have submitted my work to be marked by CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing for a Professional Marketing Level 3 qualification. Working with Treat Kitchen has been a joy and an honour. Thank you so much Jess & Lydia McDonald and Nottingham Trent University for this opportunity🌟#digitalmarketing #Internship #marketresearch

Since graduating uni I’ve been doing what I love which is designing and creating. I’ve been working on some projects including designing some bits for my sister’s wedding! The wedding has a nature, wildflower theme which is why I chose this design💐I’ve designed menus, order of the day cards and table seating plan. But here is a tiktok showing the process of how I brought the menu design to life. #graphicdesign #Adobe #photoshop #process #watercolourpaint #graduate #ntu #wedding #menu

This is a snippet of my digital mock up 'Final Major Project (FMP) Market Research Report' to demonstrate my understandings of forming my own brand and researching into brand competitors. My brand 'Badass B*tches' was my final year university collection as I studied Fashion Design at NTU. This is used as an example to show off my skills with creating a brand identity. I chose brand competitors that held the same energy and targeted a similar demographic. I found the market research process really enjoyable and I hope to carry these skills forward into the industry😊 Feel free to get in contact if you wish to see the full version. #marketreport #fashiondesigngraduate #marketresearch #brandidentity #digitalmockup #photoshop #fashion #marketing
